Screen Saver

I am a learner of VC++.I would like to know how to write screen-savers with/without using MFC.I use VC++ 6.0,i would also like to have a sample code for both,which works.I had found sites that gave sample code,but thoes program's do not create a working screen saver.
       Being a novice,I do not know about .mak (or) .def files.So please explain as how to create it as a project int the VC++ IDE.Thank You.Anticipating an explanatory answer from you experts

I probably cant help you myself, but I know that there are heaps of free C/C++ tutorials at http://www.examware.com/tutor6.html which you might find of some use.
