Out Of Office Agents

I'm running 4.6 and i'm not sure if I am creating out of office agents correctly.  It seems that if I use the existing Out of Office (ooo) agent it comes back with an access error.  Can someone outline the exact steps/procedure for creating an OOO agent.  Traditionally i create the agent inside the users mail file, my users never create an agent, instead they let me know and I set it up on the server, but somehow I don;t think this is right.

Pending the detail of requested procedure points may be higher if the procedure is detailed

We have the users create their own agents from the Mail File, do you still get Error messages if the user themselves creates their own OOO agent.

Perhaps you need to add yourself as the Manager of their MailBox.  Here are the instructions I found for setting up the agent.

Notifying people automatically when you are out of the office

You can tell Notes to respond to messages that you receive while you are out of the office. Notes sends a reply saying that you are out of the office and indicating when you will return.
Note  To use this feature, you must have access to run agents on the server that contains your mail database. If you aren't sure if you have adequate access, check with your Domino administrator.
  1.      Choose Actions - Mail Tools - Out of Office.
  2.      Enter the dates on which you are leaving and returning.
  3.      (Optional) In the box "My Out of The Office message for most people or groups," change the subject of the message or change the message itself.
  4.      (Optional) If you want to send a different message to one or more people, enter their names in the field "People/groups who should receive a special message." Then enter a subject and message in the box "My Out of The Office message for special people/groups."
  5.      (Optional) If there is anyone you do not want to receive a response while you are out of the office, enter them in the field "People/groups who should not receive any messages.
  6.      Click "Enable Out of Office Agent."
  7.      If Notes asks you  to "Choose Server to Run On," choose your mail server, and then click OK.
Note  When you want to stop this agent from running, choose Actions - Mail Tools - Out of Office, and click "I Have Returned To The Office."

I have tried it that way and I get the following message:

"You do not have execution access privaleges for this agent on [servername]; agent will not run.

Than another message appears:

OOO is now enabled when people send you mail between xdate and xdate it will reply.

Would you know why I get contradicting messages.  Thats is why I create them myself directly on the server, becuase when I created directly on the server it does not give me such a message.

There is a field in the server document under the agent manager section called 'Run personal Agents'...in here u should put names of ppl who are allowed to create agents runnin against their own databases in that particular server.  If its empty then all is allowed!

Ghassan99,

The run personal agents field is blank, so your saying that all is allowed??  That sounds odd.  Shouldn't it be the other way around, where I would want all my local users names in that field.

If your saying all is allowed, becuase of the field being blank why do I get a execution access error message?
OK, try and put a star (*) in there.

Putting a * did not help either.  I still get the 2 contradicting messages.
Ok, there are 2 more fields down there in the server document, 'run restricted...' and 'run unrestricted..." r they empty? And do the owners of the databases have manager access to their DB's?

The other 2 fields on the agent manager section is empty.  Yes, users are set as managers for their own mail files.
do me a favor, try putting some user's name inside the third field (run unrestricted), and test.
