Single login FOR SOLARIS & NT
Hi,
we have a huge network comprising of NT Terminal servers/nt-domains/stand alone servers all under a single nt
domain name.We alsohave SOLARIS 2.6 running NIS+ Naming service. These two domains are interconnected but we have to create users twice. one in NIS+ and the other in NTdomain.
Can THESE BE INTEGRATED INTO A SINGLE AUTHENTICATION process.1)that is we create logins in solaris NIS+ and automatically they become the valid users for NT DOMAIN and vice versa.
more broadly CAN THE NT DOMAIN TRUST THE USERS OF NIS+ AND JUST ACT AS CLIENT TO THE NIS+ .HOW CAN WE DO THIS?????
ANY ANSWERS

How about runing Samba as BDC on Solaris (http://www.samba.org/).

Other than the Schumann stuff that ahoffman mentioned, there is no
current solution. However, Microsoft has committed to use a standard
version of Kerberos with Windows 2000, at which point a single notion of
identity for both Windows and UNIX will be achievable without superhuman
(or expensive) effort.

when i add an new user in NIS+ database the same user is not becoming the member of samba controlled domain.I am not sure whether there is any
configuration problem? should i modify smb.conf?
