I am using RedHat 6.0 and I am trying to get the Sound working. No luck. I use sndconfig --noprobe and select the options. It comes back with resource busy or not available. I have tried different DMA IRQ and addresses. No
Luck.

You can recompile your Kernel and include Soundblaster support. I have the same SoundCard and it worked for me. If you need more help compiling your Kernel just send me an email: miro@miro.dhis.org

ok download the newest Kernel at ftp.kernel.org it should be 2.2.10 than unpack it into /usr/src
you need to be root
change to /usr/src/kernel* dir and run "make xconfig" in X or "make menuconfig" in the prompt. Select now all your hardware and in the section sound select soundcard support and OSS sound modules, Persistent DMA buffers, 100% Soundblaster compatibles than enter the IRQ and stuff of the soundcard, for midi support select Generic OPL2/OPL3 FM synthesizer that should do it. Now exit and save the configuration and type in the prompt "make dep bzImage bzlilo modules modules_install" and than you can reboot and you should have sound now

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

Why doesn't sndconfig work? When I run it it shows the ESS 1868 as an option.
