Is anyone there to help me in following areas?

1. Where can I get the PHP 3.0.11 RPM Package?
2. What else do I need with PHP to RUN IMP (Web based Email)?

I'm very new in PHP? Little help in PHP setup will be appreciated.

i do not think there is any rpm package for php 3.0.11

php 3.0.11 is still very new (i think 2 or 3 days old now :) and usualy they do not deliver their packages as rpm. this has two reasons:

1. PHP is not only used on linux and therefor it has to be available to other platforms to in tar.gz format
2. PHP can not be used standalone. it has to be either compiled as a module for apache or it has to be directly compiled in the httpd (apache) binary.

if you want to get PHP to work (it works nicely for email and everything else you can think of) and want to have it as a rpm, try to get an apache-rpm package which contains PHP. there should be such packages with rpm version 3.0.8 or so.... (SUSE delivers one with their distribution).

you will just need a running sendmail on the host which will host the webserver. that´s all.

happy trying!

Thanks Gunny!

Would you mind telling me how do I get an apache-rpm package, which contains PHP? Could you please tell me how shall I install or configure it? I can presume that I’m novice in PHP world.

And…  One more package I believe you might know where to get it.... I need Apache-fp RPM Package... (At least Apache 1.3.4+fp)…

I will be more than happy to increase the point and grade you higher for prompt and appropriate answers.

sorry, i do not know about a package which includes both, frontpage patch and php3. if you want that you will have to get the following:

apache-source tarball
frontpage-patch for this apache-source
php-soure package

then read the apropriate files contained within these packages. every little thing you have to type in, is described in detail, so don´t worry.
