Excite Bridge Game very slow loading

My husband and I have two computers, both Gateways, his is running Windows 95 and is three years old.  He has 48 MB Ram.  Mine is running Windows 98 and is 1 year old.  I have 128 MB Ram.  We have started to play Bridge through Excite (http://www.excite.com/games/online_games/) since we have two telephone lines.

The question is:  why is my husband's computer so much faster loading the games than mine?   He has to sit there waiting me me to get the program loaded and also the new cards dealt for sometimes a minute or two.

It isn't a life threatening problem but I would like to know if there is anything I can do to speed up this machine since everyone in the Bridge game is always waiting for me.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

What speed modem do each of you have? Also, what browser are you using to access the games? What size are your browser caches set at and how often to they get dumped out?

Also, have you defragged your hard disk lately?  And are you both connecting at the same speed once your modem handshakes with your ISP?

CMW, thanks for answering.

Here are the statistics on both computers.

Mine - 56K (with V90 Standard Upgrade)
Netscape 4.61    Cache Memory 1024 KByte
                                  Cache Disk      7680 KByte

Husband - 33.6
Netscape 4.05    Cache Memory 1024 KByte
                                  Cache Disk      5000 KByte

I make sure we dump the cache at least once every two weeks.

I talked to Gateway today(both computer are Gateway) on anothe problem and they said it should make no difference in connection when I updated the modem to V90.

Hope this helps find the problem.

Winelover, yes, we defrag our systems at least once a week so I don't think this is the problem.  Yes, we are both connecting at the same speed.

Tonight I connected to the game site through Internet Explorer and I had no problem at all loading the cards and it was very fast.  I guess this means something may not be right with the Netscape program.

If I can't find a solution running the Netscape program, I will just go through the Internet Explorer.

What do you think?
