MSIE 5.0 Emailer: Lost file folder access

By accident the folder we set up for MSIE 5.0 email was moved from one drive, to another, then put back. Now we cannot access our old email or the sub-folders created. We have tried to import the files but the system freezes up. Is there a way to re-access our old email as the folder is still on the hard drive?

Romero, try the following procedure.

1. Make sure that the correct *.idx, *.mbx and *.dat files are in your Outlook Express mail folder.

2. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files Or Folders.
3. In the Named box, type "folders.nch" (without quotation marks), and then click Find Now.
4. Right-click the Folders.nch file (which should be in the same folder as the *.idx and *.mbx files), and then click Rename.

5. Now reboot the system and open Outllok Express. The nch file will be recreated with the old mail in it.

Go to Add/Remove Programs and click on IE 5.0 and tools and then try to repair it, and see if this will help any.. I know that this is a long shot, but it may help more then hurt..
