When you created the frame page you should have given all frames a NAME tag, like this :

<FRAMESET COLS="10,*,*" FRAMEBORDER="0" FRAMESPACING="0" BORDER="0">
 <FRAME NAME="left" SRC="buttons.html" MARGINWIDTH="0" MARGINHEIGHT="0" SCROLLING="yes" FRAMEBORDER="0" NORESIZE>
 <FRAME NAME="middle" SRC="content.asp" MARGINWIDTH="0" MARGINHEIGHT="0" SCROLLING="yes" FRAMEBORDER="0" NORESIZE>
 <FRAME NAME="right" SRC="banner.asp" MARGINWIDTH="0" MARGINHEIGHT="0" SCROLLING="yes" FRAMEBORDER="0" NORESIZE>
</FRAMESET>

Now you have 3 frames called left,middle and right
you can refer to parent.middle too now

Hope it helps you.

sure, you can put the TARGET tag in your FORM tag too :

<FORM ACTION="x.html" METHOD="get" TARGET="new">

then a new window will be opened under the name NEW, you can type almost anything in the target tag which isn't used already, that will be your new window's name...
