How do I access a MS access Database

Im looking for ways to build a web page which is able to access a MS access database which has been distributed as a *.mdb file on a CDROM. I am not a developer in any way, and my understanding is that I need some sort of client side script to do this. I know of server side scripts that can do this, but I dont want the client to have to attach to a server. I also know of programs that can produce a HTML page  for every entry in the DB but this solution is not approproite for a large number of entrys. I need a client side script to be able to search and display any selected items.

Interesting problem.

What I would do is install on your client's machines:

IE 4.01 or 5
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) which you can download for free from MS site.

By doing this, you will be able to access databases through browsers on your client machines (on CD-ROM or not).

You need to learn about the ADO connection and recordset objects. You can use it in client side scripts just as you would in server side scripts. You may do it in VBScript or JavaScript and both will operate fine.
