Need for Speed 4 in Win2k

How can I get Need for speed 4 to recognize the 3dfx card?
i have the inf files released by somebody on the net, and they installed fine. For some reason the game 3D setup won't see it. It's a banshee card. did the same thing with a voodoo2.

i'm using RC1 build 2072, the banshee driver is the one that comes with it. i think need for speed uses d3d cause it definatly doesn't use glide.
