Outlook Hangs
Outlook has ben working fairly well on a laptop. NOTHING has changed. Now, after dialing in to our server and checking for new mail, it hangs. CTRL-ALT-DEL shows both Outlook and Mapisp32 not responding. This happens on two seperate machines. If I kill the mapisp32 can regain control of outlook.
The best solution is to re-install it ... try that

Did you ever or have Lotus ccmail installed on it?

I have two machines that have this problem. One has lotus notes on it, the other does not.
ccmail has some known issues with sr2
but I do not believe that is your problem
A posible route would be to reinstall your MAPI
1. Close outlook
2. restart in dos
3. Go to c:\windows\system
4. ren or del the following
mapi.dll
mapi32.dll
mapisp32.exe
mapisrvr.exe
mapiu.dll
mapiu32.dll
mapix.dll
mapix32.dll
mspst32.dll
Then restart in windows
reinstall outlook
this will refresh all mapi files.
If that was not to work there may be problems with windows that are causing this and you may have to reinstall windows

I have done nothing to fix the problem, but for some reason it works now... I think the problem may have been with the ISP. They told me that I needed to reinstall Outlook97... I hate stupid Tech Support reps... Thanks, for the help Blue.. Post an answer and I'll give you the points...
