Winsock & SMTP: mult. msgs w/ single connect/HELO?

When using winsock and  the SMTP protocol, if I wish to send multiple email messages in succession,

1. Do I need to issue a separate connect for each msg or can I use a single connect for the entire sequence, and

2. Do I need to issue a separate HELO for each msg or can I issue a single HELO for the entire sequence?
1 Solution
1.   You can use just a single connect for the entire sequence.

2.   You just need to send a HELO message at the first time you connected.

You can test it by yourself through command line.

1.   Telnet to your smtp server with smtp port. i.e
      telnet <your smtp> 25

2.   enter HELO <Your hostname>

3.   enter MAIL FROM: <Sender>

4.   enter RCPT TO : <Recipient>

5.   enter DATA and then type your message.  enter dot when end

After you send a message, you can repeat from step 3 to send another message
and no need to connect or send HELO again.

P.S the above is just for an example. So I haven't included any CC, subject ,etc to       it.  Surely, you can test it by yourself also.
