Vrml is a way to create a virtual world by specifying corners, edges, textures etc, allowing a full 3d model to be created, which a user may traverse.

Quicktime VR is I beleive a format for "walk through movies" so is an image format.

I.E. a walkthrough a VRML word could be recorded in quicktime vr, but then, if you decided to alter the world, reposition things etc, you could edit the vrml, but if using quicktime vr would have to re-render/re-record the scene, having done the alterations in whatever you used to make the walk through movie.

basically, quicktime VR>> Pre-rendered walkthrough. VRML>> Rendered on the fly on the users own computer.

comparison of advantages...
QTVR, good for making VR interactive events from real time sources, i.e. a walk through a forest captured on video etc....

VRML good for creating fully adaptable VR worlds from scratch, keeps server overhead lower (since the data is co-ordinates and not pixels)
