How can I set default font for Excel charts?

1 Solution

1. Start Excel.

2. Enter this data in range A1:B2
   Apples    10
   Bananas   15

3. Select the range A1:B2 and press F11 to make a real quick chart.

4. Click near the edge of the 'paper' to select the 'Chart Area'.

5. Change the font using the 'Font' dropdown on the 'Format' toolbar.

6. OK - here's the trick:
6.1 Chart - Chart type - 'Custom types' tab
6.2 Click Select from: 'User defined'
6.3 Click 'Add' and enter a name for this chart type -Click 'OK'
6.4 Click 'Set as default chart'
   6.5 Click 'OK'

You are done. Close down Excel without saving the document. Restart Excel and create a chart. You will see that the font you selected is now used as the default font for new charts.
