"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Go to Project menu - "Add to Project" - "Components and Controls" double click on "Developer Studios Components". Double click on Splash Screen. Click OK for the message box popped. It will create a .cpp and .h file.
Close the dialog box.
Now go to resource. double click Bitmap. By default it will add IDB_SPLASH Bitmap. U can change the bitmap on it.

In the initinstance add the following code

CSplashWnd* pSplashWnd = new CSplashWnd;
pSplashWnd->EnableSplashScreen(TRUE);
pSplashWnd->ShowSplashScreen(pMainFrame);
Sleep(5000);

include the correspond .h file.
Hope this helps. If U have still some problem I can send U sample application
