The path of any registered program in Windows (ie it shows up in the Add/Remove Programs window) is in this registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\app paths\

use the default value of this key to get Netscape's full path + filename:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\app paths\Netscape.exe

If you need code to retrieve this data, let me know.

kretzschmar, what version of Netscape are you using?  if you have Netscape in the registry it must be 32-bit, but why no App Paths key??? %-)

I have 4.07 and 4.08 as subkeys under my software\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\ key.  I uninstalled 4.07 when I installed 4.08 but I guess the 4.07 uninstaller left some crumbs behind.  It would be harder, but you could check the highest numbered subkey under Netscape Navigator.

I still don't know why your App Paths doesn't have Netscape.  Anyone have an idea???

you're right meikl, it is under CurrentVersion.  It is the same for me - I just can't seem to read or type today!  Smilly, feel free to reject my answer and give meikl the points.
