What are good record browsing methods in RDS?

I am developing web database applications using RDS.  The users are accustomed to using ACCESS applications in which they can find records by using combo boxes with autocompletion, etc.

What sorts of record selection techniques will such users find acceptable?  I've experimented with the Listbox Design-Time control, and that is just too slow with large recordsets.

Please advise.

First of all, don't use RDS, use ADO.

I assume that by auto completion you mean typing the word and it being selected automatically. Standard Windows behaviour is to look for words begining with the typed character.

Your solution is good old Javascript. You need to monitor the combo box's key press/down event and keep a buffer of what is typed, then you can itterate through the options in the select control and look for ones which suit the keys clicked. You must then have the browser not buble the event, or the control will revert to its standard behaviour.
