Debugging in VB 6

I just loaded VB 6 onto my machine and much to my dismay, my ActiveX controls are loaded into an IE browser when I hit F5 or Ctrl+F5.  This happens even if I add a project and load my control onto the second project's form and run it.  Can someone tell me how to make this run like it would have in VB 5. In other words; Running the second project with the control on it and not having to mess with the browser (how is this supposed ot help anyway??).  Thx.
