The equivalent to NT's %systemroot% in a 9x machine is %winbootdir%.

Here are the *most common* variables you'll find on a 9x machine (what they're equal to in my list are the most common values you'll find except for the PATH for obvious reasons):

%winbootdir%=C:\WINDOWS
%windir%=C:\WINDOWS
%COMSPEC%=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM
%PATH%=C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM;C:\
%PROMPT%=$P$G
%TEMP%=C:\TEMP
%TMP%=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP

Good Luck !!

Regards, Steve
