dass see if u have an empty unformated space on ur disk.
if yes then go ahead with ur installation process.
but u might have a problem while installing the LILO. in the MBR.
so make a boot disket and skip the part of installing the LILO on the Mbr. rest all is upto u.
happy Linuxing.

is there any other way to boot from my hard disk without a floppy?
Get another HD? I am planning on that and once that goes down, I am installing Windoze, Red Hat, and Free BSD. :)
