Winmodem uninstall!
How do I remove these last two remaining files from my hard drive. My error message says it's looking for turbobf.vxd in the sys.ini or in the registry.
I did a Winmodem uninstall, and removed the Winmodem from the device manager.
Then I did a find Winmodem a deleted even more files.
However there are two remaining files that Windows won't let me delete because It says they are being used by Windows. They are winmodem.101 and winmodem. I can see these files in the file manager main under c:\win\sys,but am unable to delete them. I don't know how to delete these files.
My goal was to remove Winmodem and files to upgrade to a better modem. Help please!!

when your machine is booting you will see a message in the DOS screen (you have to be quick) that says "STARTING WINDOWS 9X", when this appears hit the F8 key and you will come to a menu with 6-7 choices, choose the SAFE MODE COMMAND PROMPT ONLY, and that will take you to a DOS prompt without windows loading
