you should define an alert in the object navigator and use show_alert function ...

When you do message('some thing'), it actually appears on the status bar in a very small font.  If you want you use this to be shown as an alert, you have the following options,
1. Message('Something',acknowledge);
2. Give two messages successively,
    message(' ');
    When two messages come successively, the first one will be shown as an alert     and the second one on the status bar.
3. Use an alert
    create an alert in the object navigator (message_alert)
    In the trigger, declare a variable number (x)
    then use the built in
    x := show_alert('message_alert);

I dont want to show an alert. I have to write four to five lines of code for that.

If I say
Message('something'); OR
Message('something'); acknowledge;
Message('something'); synchronize
it does not work..

I want to know why my messages are not showing?
