1.  Make sure you are using ODBC32.
2.  Make sure that System DSN (not User DSN).
3.  You might try changing converting the database driver to the native driver in the report.  For example, the default in CR for SQL Server is PDSODBC.  The native driver for SQL Server is PDSSQL.

Hope this helps.

This dll comes with Crystal.  You can change the dll for your report. I'm not sure what version you are using but in version 6.0, in the Report Designer,  check Database -- Convert Database driver.  Try using the pdssql.dll since you are using sql server.

I had a similar problem. Seagate Tech support said that only the drivers which are loaded with the OCX control (when you install VB 6.0) are available. If you're trying to use ADO OLEDB - it won't work. You've got to buy Crystal reports 7.0, which has all the necessary drivers for SQL Server.

You can buy the upgrade rather than the full price version, because you've installed VB which has the CR OCX control.

This question was awarded, but never cleared due to the JSP-500 errors of that time.  It was "stuck" against userID -1 versus the intended expert whom you awarded.  This corrects the problem and the expert will now receive these points; points verified.
