How to config X Windows to use a vedio card not listed

I installed Linux Redhat 6 into my PentiumII400 comouter.  The vedio card used is a Diamond Viper770 which is not on the Linux hardware list.  When I start X Windows, the X Windows' display resolution is extremely low so that I can only see 3 - 4 huge icons on the screen.  I cannot even see system/logout.  I have to manually power the PC off.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

I tried to re-install the whole thing a couple of times with no luck.  I configured to start X Windows manually.  Is there any parameters can be adjusted maulally to change X Windows display resolution so that I don't have to reinstall the whole thing.
