Object File Formats

What's the format of windows object file.

My questions is :
If we have same object file format's (same exe formats)
for both UNIX and Windows OS (assuming they are on same micro-processor and no OS dependent system calls), then won't it be possible to run one exe on the other.

Short answer: YES.

Cause the OS' runtime loader needs some information about the object file's internel tables (data, text, etc.).
That's the reason why some languages (compilers) use something like p-code, i.e. pascal, perl, Tcl/Tk, java
