Read com-port

Hi ! I want to get the datas send by a telephone system
to a serial printer by not connecting a printer but a PC.
The Datas should be converted into an ms-access or excel file.

I know this component but I didn't know where to get it. Thanks ! I'll try
it within the next days. Do you know how to write the Datas into Access
or Excel ???

sure, no prob?
but not as easy as downloading the component and, making efficient use of it, i think :)

so you'll see, when trying it, that the rs-232 entry is a text buffer input. you have to decide the most efficient way to convert it to a logical data. if i were you, i would make a DDE connection with excel, to send data to excel. i guess you'll have plenty of methods to do this.

i'm overloaded at the moment, so try the component first, rest should come later? let's put together our efforts to solve that prob. of yours

I'll firstly try to find out what datas are sent through the port. Then I'll try to
save them in excel....
