How to convert MP3 files to something MAC can play.

I am sending MP3 files created on a PC to someone with a MAC. What software can they use to convert MP3 to AIFF files?

Hi, rbender.

The program you need is SoundApp, a freeware program for Macintosh that can play as well as convert sound files to many other file formats. This is available at http://www.spies.com/~franke/SoundApp/ for download.

MP3 files can be played on any Mac running QuickTime 4.0. This multimedia software also plays movies of many formats as well as sound files of many types. It is also likely that you can save the MP3 files as a QuickTime "movie" with the soundtrack imbedded. QuickTime is not flashy, but it is free. Available for Mac (or Windows) at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/ for download.

Also, Macast (formerly MacAmp) is an MP3 player. It comes as  a "lite" (free) version as well as more robust version for purchase. Go to http://www.macast.com/ to find the software. I do not think this program has conversion ability.

Good luck!
