i downloaded apache websever 1.3.1 for my unixware2.0.1. I unzipped that file. So it created one apache_1.3.1 directory and kept all files in it.. In order to compile the file i executed Configure command from src directory.. while executing it is showingh the following messages..
Using config file: Configuration
 | Please note that the default httpd root directory has changed
 | from '/usr/local/etc/httpd/' to '/usr/local/apache/.'
 | You may add '-DHTTPD_ROOT=\"/usr/local/etc/httpd\"' to EXTRA_CFLAGS
 | in your Configuration file (and re-run Configure) or start
 | httpd with the option '-d /usr/local/etc/httpd' if you still
 | want to use the old root directory for your server.
Creating Makefile
Sorry, but we cannot grok ""
uname -m
uname -r
uname -s
uname -v
uname -X

System = UNIX_Sys
Node = unix
Release = 4.2MP
KernelID = 95/02/14
Machine = i386at
BusType = ISA
Serial =
Users =
OEM# = 0
Origin# = 1
NumCPU = 1

Ideally, read the file PORTING, do what it says, and send the
resulting patches to The Apache Group by filling out a report
form at If you don't
wish to do the port yourself, please submit this output rather
than the patches. Thank you.

Pressing on with the build process, but all bets are off.
Do not be surprised if it fails. If it works, and even
if it does not, please contact the above address.

 + configured for Unknown and unsupported OS platform
Error: could not find any of these C compilers
 anywhere in your PATH:  gcc cc acc c89
Configure terminated

it is showing C compiler not in my machine. But i have C compiler(cc) and path aslo there.
the error messages i re-directed to some othger like this.

UX:sh (Configure): ERROR: ./helpers/mfhead: Not found
UX:sh (Configure): ERROR: ./helpers/CutRule: Not found
UX:sh (Configure): ERROR: ./helpers/CutRule: Not found
UX:sh (Configure): ERROR: ./helpers/CutRule: Not found
