If you have the flat one with an external RJ45 "dongle" it should work.
The adapter with integrated RJ45 that fills two pcmcia slots almost works. Your description sounds like you have the fat one. I, and some of my colleagues, have lost a lot of working hours trying to get this to work, and still haven't figured it out.

Can you please provide the output of ifconfig and lsmod?
Do you have a static ip address or do you use dhcp?

Hi
Xircom does not produce drivers for windows. Recently thay have started to publish specifications for their products so that other developers can write drivers. According to Xircom , the driver you use support the following cards

CreditCard Ethernet 10+Modem 28.8™ (CEM28-10BT)
CreditCard Ethernet 10+Modem 33.6™ (CEM33-10BT)
CreditCard Ethernet 10/100+Modem 56™ (CEM56-100BTX, CEM56-100MD and CEM56-100BC)
RealPort Ethernet 10+Modem 56™ (REM56-10BT)
RealPort Ethernet 10/100+Modem56-GlobalACCESS™ (REM56G-100BTX)

If your card isn´t included, I suggest that you look at
http://www.xircom.com/sdk/sdk-linuxupdate.html.
There you may find beta and alfadrivers for some other cards from Xircom.

I think the problem is that the driver doesn´t fully support your card.

with best regards
rolfc
