I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Do you still have the uninstall link in the start menu for Norton? If not, then try reinstalling Norton.  This should repair the uninstall file and make it present in add/remove.

The simpliest and least complicated way to do this is to
re-install Norton Anti-Virus and then when you have re-booted
your computer, Norton will be in the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS
and then you can remove it without a problem.

If you have lsot your Norton disk borrow one from a friend
for this simple install and uninstall.
