Managing mail before download

I have the following problem:
I receive lots of email without interest in my job computer.
My computer is connected by ethernet to one mail server.
Is there any way to see the mails on the server (I mean the title and sender) without downloading?
And then of course to erase what I don´t want to read?

I use outlook2000.

You could use an external tool like the Magic Mailbox Monitor. It's a small program that downloads the headers in your mailbox and can download the body of an e-mail. You can delete the items you don't want around. More info here:
