crystal report.

how do i do this.

i already create 1 report using crystal report tools. name helpme.rpt.

now i want to give my a user a tool that he/she can modify the contains of that report. he/she can modify the structure of that report. such as he/she just want to print some records maybe this abc field = cde where
xxx = help and what ever. so this data will directly go into crystal report which is name help.rpt.

There are a couple of different ways to do this, if you are reading records from a database you can say:

Report1.GroupSelectionFormula="{Table1.field} = 'xxx'"

If you just have data on the report that you may/may not want to print then you can make formulas on the report:

Formula1 'A place holder
in code you would say:
Report1.formulas(0) = "Formula1='Y'"

then in report for other things you might want to print based on Formula1.

if Formula1 = "Y" then
   "This is data"

I hope you get the idea.

how do i get table1.field.

what is that ?
lets say i have 3 field.

1 field = abc
2 field = cde
3 field = ghj

does it mean abc.field ?
I don't really understand what you are asking.

Do you mean how do I only print those items on "TableA" where the value of "FieldA" is = "abc"?

Report1.GroupSelectionFormula="{TableA.FieldA} = 'abc'"
