List of SQL Error Codes/Messages

Where can I find an entire list of the trappable SQL error codes?  I don't have easy access to the Books Online (the errors are listed in Books Online).  I need to traverse through the list to find all error numbers that pertain to record locking so that I can allow the program to retry to edit/update a record.  Is there a web site, Access database or text file that contains a list of the error codes.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Re-read my previous my question.  Accessing Books Online is not an option.
In master DB, select * from sysmessages.  This will give you of the predefined sql errors and warnings.  You can also create your own with RAISEERROR command.   Hope this is what you want.
