Netscape 4.7 Problem

I am using Mac7100/80, System 8.1, Netscape 4.7.

On opening Netscape, I receive a window, "Welcome to Netscape", requiring me to select a user profile.

My wife has her own Mac 7100 with 8.1 and Newscape 4.7.
She does not have to go through the user profile selection.

I am the only person using my computer, and would like to bypass the user profile routine.  I haven't been able to find anything in preferences to eliminate this routine.  Thanks in advance for your help

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Edited text of question.
If you are getting the "Welcome to Netscape" dialog, then you must have (perhaps inadvertantly) created multiple profiles.

You won't get the dialog if you delete all but one of the profiles.  To delete a the profile, click the "Manage Profiles" button when the dialog comes up.  Select one of the profiles you don't want, and click the "Delete" button.

Suggest you try each of the profiles before you delete any.  Profiles are where your preferences and bookmarks are stored.  Be sure to keep the right one.

If you need to save old bookmarks, they are (by default) stored in "System Folder:Preferences:Netscape Users:<profile name>:bookmarks.html".  You can edit them with a text editor if you need to merge bookmarks from one profile into another profile.
