I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

KDE uses fonts from X-windows. So the question is really: How do you install new fonts in X?

You should put the file in a subdirectory of:

/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts
or
/usr/share/fonts

which subdirectory depends on the fonttype, and distribution.

Check in
/etc/X11/fs/config
that the font is handled by the font-server. Check the catalogue path!
