Installation question

For some reason, when I try to install a downloaded program, it installs a different program!  The error occurs everytime I try to run an installation program (I am sure that program doesn't have muliple programs in it).  An example to that will be when I try to install my new v1.30 voodoo 3 driver, it installs the Internet update from 3com!  Well, I tried to install another program but it also installs the internet update instead of the real program.

Can anyone help me with this?

How are you starting the setup program? It sounds like you have a crossed link since it keeps trying to install the same program.
Try going into Windows Explorer and find the program you want to install , find the setup or install.exe and double click on it from inside explorer

well, its a winzip self extracting file (I can extract the setup.exe file within that installation program) but when I run the setup.exe file inside that program, after it just go on and install the 3com internet update program.
You stated it does this on every program you try to install?
Where are you starting the setup from? Start, Run maybe?
Or are you using the install feature of Winzip to do this?

no.  I used the winzip's built-in explorer to view the compressed files.  Then from that window, I run the setup.exe program.  But it just not installing what it suppose to install.
OK then unzip the file to a folder and run the setup from there, not from Winzip and see if that helps
