How do you create those nice help files
that function by means of hyperlinks?

They are called HTMLHelp.

First of all, you need to create the help files. In order to do that, download the HTMLHelp Workshop, free, from Microsoft:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdn-online/workshop/author/htmlhelp/

Once you build the HTMLHelp file, the second step is to link it to your Delphi application. Delphi has no direct support for HTML help (which sucks speedwise and requires IE) in the VCL. There may be 3rd-party solutions. A few URLs to check are

  http://www.hyperact.com/DelphiStuff.html
  http://www.informant.com/libs/delphi/3x/di9805rl.zip
  http://www.igweb.pair.com HTML HELP Pack

Hi Enej

Torry has a few free and not so free help authors.

Amandas help is quite simple to use and produces both html and 'traditional' style help files'

Click the tools icon @ the bottom of the page
Select the 'help'tools' hyperlink on the left.
Download any number of help compilers.
Amanda Lee's is very good & simple to use.
