Help files

How do you create those nice help files
that function by means of hyperlinks?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

They are called HTMLHelp.

First of all, you need to create the help files. In order to do that, download the HTMLHelp Workshop, free, from Microsoft:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdn-online/workshop/author/htmlhelp/

Once you build the HTMLHelp file, the second step is to link it to your Delphi application. Delphi has no direct support for HTML help (which sucks speedwise and requires IE) in the VCL. There may be 3rd-party solutions. A few URLs to check are

Hi Enej

Torry has a few free and not so free help authors.

Amandas help is quite simple to use and produces both html and 'traditional' style help files'
