MS-DOS mode compatability running on both drives

I have also this PB 486-DX-2 w/80 pentium[using WIN95] OS that is running in ms-dos mode on both C & D drives. Everything I've read, techs spoken with, money spent trying to get corrected, DOESN'T WORK. Without wiping hard-drives, how can this be corrected??? In plain language please somebody...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try typing at the command prompt
C:>fdisk /mbr
and then reboot...
MAYBE THIS WOULD WORK...
