Hiding a Label without repainting?

Hi everybody.
I have a Label1 visible on Form1. When I make
the form Form1 is repainted. Is it possible to hide the label without repainting the form Form1? And if possible, how? The problem is relevant when the painting takes much time.
Regards, Alex.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I don't know if this helps, as I guess the painting is automated from the Label.Visible property, but the message

InvalidateRect( handle, @rect, FALSE ) ;

may help you...( the false stops the whold form repainting, only the bit in the rect...)

just an idea,

does the form repaint if you use the form-color as tfont.color of your label instead of hide it.

Hi Tim.
I tried your idea, more precisely
because I didn't know to send a message
wm_SetRedraw. But, as the other ideas didn't help much, I shall try the way you suggested me.

Thanks also to Meikl and Rene.
