Getting this when starting Hyper terminal "Hyper terminal has reported a general TAPI error.  Please close program and try again."

Any ideas ?

A "TAPI" error means an error with the 32 bit telephony API, this may be a hardware or software issue with the way your modem is installed, try deleting it from device manager and rebooting, using the add hardware icon in control panel to reinstall if win 9x doesn't auto detect it.,

Its a software error and I'm not using a modem but rather com1 (which is working fine).  Is there a way to reinstall the TAPI components of '95 ?
Open control panel, choose the Add/remove programs icon, run it, click the windows setup tab, uncheck communications, click okay, exit control panel, reboot, put your win 95 cd in the drive, go back to control panel etc, and recheck communications, should reinstall diallup networking, hyperterminal etc.
Already removed/added all setup components.  No joy.
