How to write a VFW codec ?

I wrote a codec for video, it works fine but I use my own file format. I would like to make it compatible with VFW. I have installed le VFW SDK 1.1, there is an exemple (ICsample) but there is no real documentation and the exemple seems to be a 16 bits driver. I would like to write a 32 bits DLL like Indeo.
I look for some *good* documentations on how to write a video codec for VFW, sample code and would like to know how to install the codec.

It is documented in the DDK.

Video Compression Manager Drivers (Windows NT 4.0 DDK)
http://msdn.microsoft.com/isapi/msdnlib.idc?theURL=/library/ddkdoc/ntddk/native/ddk/sg/src/vidcomp.htm

Video Compression and Decompression Drivers (Windows 95 DDK)
http://msdn.microsoft.com/isapi/msdnlib.idc?theURL=/library/ddkdoc/win95ddk/mmedia_4yk0.htm

The DDKs are downloadable at http://www.microsoft.com/hwdev/ddk. There are samples in the DDKs.

VFW 1.1 is a 16-bit SDK, which is obselete.
