Is there a way to disable autoarchive in outlook97/98 by writing a value to the Registry. I would us kixtart to configure the outlook client.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Wandered across this... it might help:

; Change Registry value to disable "AutoArchive"
writevalue("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Default
Profile\0a0d020000000000c000000000000046", "000b0320" , "0000" ,
"REG_BINARY")

; Change Registry value to disable "Prompt Before AutoArchive"
writevalue("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Default
Profile\0a0d020000000000c000000000000046", "000b0321" , "0000" ,
"REG_BINARY")

; Change Registry value to disable "Delete expired items when AutoArchiving"
writevalue("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Default
Profile\0a0d020000000000c000000000000046", "000b0322" , "0000" ,
"REG_BINARY")

; Change Registry value to disable "every ____ days at startup"
writevalue("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Default
Profile\0a0d020000000000c000000000000046", "00030323" , "00000000" ,
"REG_BINARY")

; Change Registry value for the AutoArchive file path to ""
writevalue("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Default
Profile\0a0d020000000000c000000000000046", "001e0324" , "" , "REG_SZ")

The Kixtart code assumes a profile name of "Default Profile".
