I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

go to the Control Panel, double click on the Sounds icon, scroll down the list and test each sound until you find the one you don't want and deselect it or change it to something less annoying. In mine there isn't one to select for the mouse button so it may be listed under something else, so just highlight each and hit the preview button

Tried renaming 'Start.wav'; seems to be working...

However, I still don't know the ramifications of the above. I hope that some else is not affected adversely.

Thanks for your input.
