links

Hi,

Is there code to refresh link colors once you have visited them?
I have link color, alink color, and vlink color, and I wonder how to refresh the vlink colors back to the original link color so the browser will see the original color after a certain amount of time has passed, like one day.

thanks

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

After clearing my memory and disk cache and location bar history, the links still stay the vlink color.

For IE: (Only have v5.0 here, the solution might be different in earlier versions): Tools - Internet Options - General - Then click "Clear History" in the "History"-section.

For Netscape:
Edit - Preferences - Navigator - then click "Clear history" in the "History"-section.

Let me know if this helps.

Eh - where is my brain today? Note that under the two "history"-sections you can also set the number of days you want the history to last. If you set it to 1, the vlinks will change back after one day like you wanted.

is this for your own browser or client side?
for your own browser, tinsi's suggestion will be fine.
for clients browser, you cant do that. if you want links to look refreshed, try making your vlink color the same as you link color so they all stay the same. you cant change ppls browser settings from a webpage.
