Odd SendMessage problem

newWnd->SendMessage(WM_KEYDOWN, VK_RETURN, NULL);

The above code does not work. The variable newWnd is a pointer to a CEdit casted object. VK_RETURN shows in Spy++ to send text, but the above code just makes the text in the given window sit there. Spy++ gives me some lKeyData that I might need to use in the lParam - How would I do that if I need to?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
