screen resolution difficulty

i am completely new to Linux.  i just installed Linux-Mandrake 6.1 on a partition of my hard drive.  the installation was problem-free.  however, in Windows 98 i have grown accustomed to a 1024 x 768 resolution.  X windows seems to have a 640 x 480, and i cannot find in any of the settings any way to change that. how can i change the screen resolution?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Type in XF86Setup, and choose a new res. If that does not help, then you have the wrong graphics driver.
