Q Basic

Is there any console BASIC compiler\interpreter for Windows 98. Something like QBasic or GW Basic? How about VisualBasic. Does it have support for console applications, in the same Visual C++ does?

Thank you.

¿What is a "console compiler"?

By consol, I mean a prgramming interface that is like a DOS window, or UNIX shill, and not a Windows application. I need that so I can teach the kids simple programming without overwhelming them with all of these Windows related issued such as handling messages, creating windows, etc, etc.
QBasic creates console applications, since its interface is a DOS window; all the interaction between the user and the application is done at the DOS prompt.

Thank you.
You have Turbo Basic, from Borland, by far (IMHO) much better than QB. If you can't get it at the Web, I can mail it to you.

Hehe... :)  I remember how atonished I've got after seeing how easily 5-yr kids learned the concept of recursion (something very hot and terrible for much older guys), using Logo programs.

But there are few things so heavy as teaching with annoying things in the middle.
