Transparent Background

I have an oval button that I created, but I would like to make the background transparent, so I could place it on another image and make it look like just a button, and not a oval button with a square background.....

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

In photoshop create your button and Export as Gif89a. Select your preferred color pallet (adaptive etc) and in the top square select your transparency color ie. the color behind your button. That color will now not show up when the browser loads that image.

I found a better way, you can use the magic wand and select the area you want to be transparent and then go to Help-> Export Transparent Image and it works like a charm!

Thanks for your comments,

That does the same thing except adobe has compressed it down to a menu. I tell people how to do it the long way as it helps them to understand exactly how photoshop works and if people understand photoshop it makes solving other photoshop problems easier.
