VCL HTML Viewer

Does anyone know of a native VCL HTML Viewer component for Delphi 4 and/or Delphi 5?

The standard D4 and D5 versions are NOT native VCL components.

I have been using WaveTools for Delphi 3, but they dropped support for that product and it does not work correctly in Delphi 4...I'm looking for a replacement and would STRONGLY prefer a native VCL solution.

I know TExplorerD4 (Pragma Systems). The demo is good but I haven't tested in programm. I have downloaded the component. Do you want it?

Alph,

I found TExplorerD4 on the web (not at the DSP, though I looked)...

This is what their site says:

"TExplorerD4 is a freeware component for Inprise Delphi 4.0 that embed a Microsoft Explorer 4.0 or earlier ActiveX and can control a Delphi application using HTML pages and Links. It's derived from the shareware version of TExplorerCommand for Delphi 3.0, actually in free download."

That is not native VCL...that's using IE4 to do the HTML parsing and displaying, just like the components that come with D5.  But thanks, anyway.  They seem like good components...just not exactly what I'm looking for.

I'm looking for actual NATIVE VCL components to do the HTML viewing...the WaveTools components were working great under D3, but they just dropped the product before D4.  They still work in general in D4, but there are a few "quirks" that can't be overcome and I need a replacement.

abulka,

I could not locate HTMLLite anywhere.  Can you give me a link?

Mike,

Thanks for the link...it looks like the PRO versions of those components might do well, though I still have to take a bit of a deeper look at them.

In any case, it still looks like the WaveTools version was the best of the bunch, since it was the easiest to use and very capable...it had the HTTP protocol built-in so there wasn't much work to do to get the browser working...too bad they discontinued. :(

Anyway, I'm a programmer, right...I should be able to roll with the punches.

Thanks again...and thanks to abulka, but no link...no credit.
