NIC Driver Needed
NIC: - WS-P220CT/S
This is a WiseCom NIC although a sticker on it says GVC.
The wisecom site has a page describing it but the driver page has no driver for it. &%#%!
399 BIG POINTS if I get this by 0900hrs PST. Nov. 12, 1999
If not, I will reduce it to 150 points because the urgency will be gone. (sort of).

Have you tried to use the WS-P200C/CT driver instead ?
Could be worth a try...

Or send an email to: webmaster@paylesscomputers .com
They helped me several times regarding drivers or other info.
The WS-P220CT is listed here:
http://www.paylesscomputers.com/network.htm
Maybe they can send you the driver...

Try these 2 sites:
www.drivershq.com
www.windrivers.com
Mkae sure you have the card handy or write down its FCC code. The FCC code is used to identify more precisely who actually manufactured the card , so you can get an accurate driver.

simonet,
I hope you didn't get 495 "good answers" this way...
This is pretty annoying since you give just general information instead of trying to follow your suggested links first.
- drivershq points to the manufacturer's site
- windrivers points to the manufacturer's site, too
at the manufacturers site there's *no* driver for this model...so, correct me if I'm wrong, but I cannot see any help/advantage in your answer.
Sorry for being that "directly" but this "rude question blocking" happened too often to me now.
Regards

> mitrakis,
I called them up and within 2 minutes they sent me the entire install disk.
Thanks, I will only grade you a "C" because I actually had to do the grunt work. I would have given an "A" if you sent it to me.
Many thanks!

>rude question blocking
Why is it rude? If I believe that if have a suggestion that can actually br an answer, I should, and I will, post it as such.
It has happened to me one time too many to have users delete "commented-only" questions after they got a comment that solved their problem.

Alex, I agree.
Though, I hope you can understand my objection since I tried to find a site skylab can *download* the driver (not a fifty-fifty chance to find it or not).
Imagine this kind of answer would be the standard answer for such questions, believe me, 50% of EE's answers would be "goto drivers.com" or "do a search on the web", wouldn't it.
I hope you don't misunderstand me...just had a "bad day" this day ;)
